Susan came to central Illinois over 35 years ago from the Chicago suburb of Elmhurst. After an extensive and very successful career as a sales consultant and educator for a leading eyewear manufacturer, she joined forces with Dr. Sommer in 1995 to open Vintage Optical. After working side by side with Dr. Sommer for 20 years, she has become one of the area’s best opticians and eyewear consultants.
Sue is a member of Morton Rotary, where she has served as the club’s Youth Exchange Officer since 2010. Outside of the office, Susan enjoys gardening, working on home renovation projects, advocating for disabled adults in Heart of Morton, and actively participating in a local book club. She and her husband Dale, of Colby Natural Health, have enjoyed being small business owners. They have three grown children, any of which you may see employed from time to time at either of their small businesses.
